Awair 2nd Edition Air Quality Monitor
Atmotube 2.0 - Portable Air Quality Monitor
IQAir [AirVisual Pro Air Quality Monitor]
Air quality can have a huge effect on our lives. But, for some reason, most people don’t take it seriously. We are constantly reminded to eat well, exercise, and live healthily, but when it comes to the air we breathe every day, it’s easy to ignore. Air quality problems are often quite easy to fix but you have to be able to diagnose and monitor the problem yourself. This article lists the best air quality monitors on the market.
The Best Air Quality Monitor
1Awair 2nd Edition Air Quality Monitor
The Awair 2nd Edition is one of the most popular air quality monitors on the market. It tracks the 5 key elements of your air quality – fine dust (also known as PM2.5), chemicals (also known as VOCs), CO2, humidity, and temperature. Some air quality monitors will provide extra information but these are the 5 main elements. As soon as you turn on the Awair 2nd Edition, you can start to track this data in the Awair app, which is one of the most detailed and user-friendly apps in this space.
The other big selling point of the Awair 2nd Edition is the way it looks. Unlike some older home air quality testers, it doesn’t have a screen. Awair has used this to their advantage and made the product look fantastic. The body is crafted from North American Walnut and it has an attractive modern grille on the front. It’s one of the best performing and best looking indoor air monitors on the market. For more amazing home appliances that will benefit your health, check out our guide to the best humidifiers.

2CO2Meter AZ-0004 Air Quality Monitor
Most of the products on this list are generic air quality monitors. They track different elements in the air and provide you a holistic view of your home’s air quality. Not this one. The CO2Meter AZ-0004 is designed to measure the CO2 levels in your home. High CO2 levels won’t kill you, but they can cause headaches, fatigue, breathing difficulties, and other health problems. When the CO2 levels reach a dangerous level, the in-built alarm will continue to sound until you move the sensor or reduce the levels.
In addition to the CO2 sensor, it has a humidity sensor and air temperature gauge. If you don’t need to measure the PM2.5 and VOCs levels in your home, this indoor air monitor is up to the task. It’s more accurate than a lot of home air quality monitors, it just doesn’t provide quite as much information. We also like the fact that it’s self-calibrating, so you can take it straight out of the box and start monitoring the air in your home.

3EG Air – Air Quality Monitor
The EG Air – Air Quality Monitor is designed to detect concentrations of formaldehyde (HCHO), VOCs, and PM2.5. These 3 measures of air quality are closely linked with multiple respiratory problems such as asthma. If you consistently see a difference in the way you breathe in a certain room or building, it could be the case that the air is polluted. This home air quality sensor will accurately tell you if the levels are dangerous.
As well as the accurate sensors, it has an in-built fan that sucks air into the monitor. The benefit of this is that it provides real-time measurements. So, if you want to check the air quality in a certain area of your house, you walk in with this monitor and you can see the measurements on the screen change. The data is displayed on a color LCD screen and there’s a little bar that indicates whether the quality is ‘fresh’ or not. The downside of this air monitor is that there is no corresponding app to provide a more in-depth analysis. The data on the screen is all you get. 4EG Air – Air Quality Pollution Monitor
This next product from EG Air is an updated version of the last air quality monitor we featured. It has a lot of the same technology inside, with the addition of a couple of sensors and features. Like the original EG Air air quality monitor, it tracks the formaldehyde, VOCs, and PM2.5 levels in the air. In addition, it tracks the temperature, humidity, and different types of fine dust (PM1.0 & PM10). Despite this extra information, it has the same 2.8-inch color LCD screen as the older model.
It also has an in-built fan that allows for real-time measurements of air quality. It’s just as good for spot-checking different parts of a room. The addition of humidity and temperature sensors are the main reason you’d choose this model over the slightly older one. They’re both as accurate as each other and provide the information in an easy-to-understand format.

5IGERESS Air Quality Monitor
The IGERESS Air Quality Monitor is a relatively cheap handheld air pollution monitor for home use. It provides an overall view of the air quality in your home by tracking the HCHO, VOCs, PM2.5, PM1.0, PM10, temperature, and humidity. As you’ll see from that list, it’s one of the most complete products on the market. The only thing missing is a CO2 sensor, but even the most expensive air quality monitors sometimes don’t have these.
One of the things we like about this air quality monitor is its large and bright screen. It displays your air quality data in a colorful and easy-to-read format. Plus, it provides a generic view of the air quality so you can monitor it at a glance. It is necessary to calibrate the device before you use it. This process isn’t particularly complicated, but if you get it wrong it can render the device useless. The company has referred to this in the Amazon listing and claims that the data is accurate if you use the device correctly. We also like the fact that it is charged by USB – it’s a much more up-to-date charging method than a lot of air quality monitors. You may also like some of the best high velocity fans from our list, so be sure to check them out.

6IQAir [AirVisual Pro Air Quality Monitor]
If you truly want to be in control of your home’s air quality, you should buy the IQAir AirVisual Pro. This product surpasses the best indoor air quality meters by providing accurate, detailed, and usable data and displaying it in a user-friendly way. If money’s no object, this is the best air quality monitor on the market. It has professional-grade sensors that use laser technology, advanced airflow control, and other technologies to provide consistently accurate data. Cheaper products are capable of providing accurate data but they are often inconsistent and require careful calibration. Instead, the IQAir AirVisual Pro has a calibration algorithm that takes the guesswork out of the process.
The large LCD screen provides a colorful display of your air quality data. You can compare your living room’s air quality to that in Hong Kong or New York. Additionally, you can access your data on the AirVisual website or air pollution app. You can also connect the monitor to Alexa and other smart home technologies and program the device to alert you when the air quality changes. This product might be more expensive than the competition, but can you put a price on your home’s air quality?

7GAIN EXPRESS Wall Mountable CO2 Detector
Next up, we’ve got another dedicated CO2 meter. This product is a little more expensive than the CO2Meter AZ-0004 because it has a few extra features. The first, and most notable, difference is that this monitor is designed to be mounted on the wall. That means it’s not quite as versatile because you can’t detect the small differences in the air quality of different rooms. However, it has a more powerful sensor and the data it provides is more accurate (it has an accuracy of around 3% above or below).
The LCD is large and easy-to-read. Plus, it has a built-in alarm that you can program to go off at certain levels. Like the CO2Meter AZ-0004, it has a humidity and temperature gauge built-in. And, it has a couple of inputs that allow you to plug a louder alarm in and even download your data to a computer. It also makes a very useful Christmas gift for you and your loved ones this year.

8IGERESS Air Quality Detector
This IGERESS Air Quality Detector is one of the best handheld air quality detectors available. It can be used as a mold detector and tracks formaldehyde (HCHO), VOCs, PM2.5, & PM10. Unlike some of the more expensive monitors, it doesn’t track humidity, temperature, or CO2. The design of this air quality monitor is one of its biggest selling points. It has multiple air holes around the shell that allows for a continuous flow of air through the monitor. That means it can provide real-time data as you move around the house.
One of our favorite features on the IGERESS Air Quality Detector is the overall air quality indicator. Instead of having to delve into your data, you can see at a glance if the air quality is okay in your house. It has about 3 to 4 hours of battery life when fully charged, so it’s not designed to be left on your countertop. It’s more suited to checking the air quality in a specific area of your house.

9Atmotube 2.0 – Portable Air Quality Monitor
If you’re looking for a budget air quality monitor, the Atmotube 2.0 is one of the cheapest on the market. The reason it’s a lot cheaper than other air quality monitors is that it only really measures VOCs and Carbon Monoxide. It does have basic sensors for humidity and temperature as well, but it’s focused on VOCs and harmful gases.
They’ve also saved money in the design by not including a screen. Instead, the information is sent directly to your smartphone via the Atmotube app. Here you can check real-time measurements and add your data to a Global Air Quality Map, which shows how different areas around the world compare. One of the best things about the Atmotube is its size. It’s only 2.6-inches tall, so you can fit it in your pocket or attach it to your belt and check the air quality wherever you are. 10Blueair Aware Indoor Air Quality Monitor
The Blueair Aware Indoor Air Quality Monitor is one of the most advanced on the market. It tracks every key element of air quality – VOCs, PM2.5, CO2, temperature, & humidity – and sends the information to the Blue Friend App. Data is automatically sent and saved every 5 minutes, so you can get an overview of how the air quality is changing. It’s also easy to move from room to room, which allows you to compare the air quality in different areas of your home.
One of the main advantages of buying a Blueair product is that it can pair with other Blueair products. So, if you own a Blueair filter or purifier, you can use this air quality monitor to control them. They work together seamlessly to improve the air quality in your home. Some customers have complained that the Blue Friend App needs some work, but when you’re used to it, you shouldn’t have any problems.
