1. Bahamas
If you’ve got a severe case of the winter blues, the make a sunshine pit stop your destination of choice for that winter weekend trip. Just four hours by plane from NYC and you can ditch the suit for your bathers. The Bahamas is full of plantation-style, authentic inns to stay at, packed with colonial heritage and homely charm. Pretty much every activity you can conceive of is available in the Bahamas. Whether you fancy snorkelling, horseback riding or enjoying a private beach barbecue. It’s sure to be one hell of a weekend getaway. So pack your sunglasses, slides and beer koozie and hit the road!
2. Chicago
It’s a hell of a town as they say and perfect for a getaway with your guy gang. The only trouble is that with so many standout restaurants and new bars and hotels continually popping up, a weekend will only just scratch the surface of what Chicago has to offer. If you can, make it a long weekend to pack more in. If you’re lucky enough to be staying at The Robey, a new hotel in Wicker Park, try out one of their cocktails at sway bat Up & Up. 3. Denver
Colorado isn’t just about awesome ski resorts. If your gang are foodies and you all fancy a long weekend checking out the buzzing restaurant scene on offer, then Denver is the place to be seen and eat! Denver is packed with award-winning restaurants where you can feast on the best fine-dining around, then follow up with drinks in a speakeasy-style bar. Rioja restaurant in Larimer is legendary and has well and truly put Denver on the culinary map. While William and Graham make creative cocktails featuring signature ingredients like cucumber beet syrup and corn, which are sure to get the weekend party started!
4. Hawaii
With an average winter temperature in the high 70’s, Hawaii is a pleasant winter getaway, offering a totally tropical paradise. 5. Key West

6. Montreal
There’s something magical about Montreal, especially in the winter season. Just a short hours flights from NYC and you’re a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis. Exploring 17th-century cobblestone streets instead while you check out the design district and hunt down cosy bars with real open fires. As you’d expect, there’s plenty for the winter weather thrill-seeker on offer from ice-skating on Beaver Lake to sledging through Mount Royal Park. If you’re heading there between January and February, you are really in for a treat, especially if your group of male friends all have a love of music in common. Igloofest takes place annually down in the Old Port and has been described by many as the biggest winter party there is. Killer ideas don’t come much more fun than that!
7. New York City
You can’t beat a weekend in the Big Apple, but in winter, it shines exceptionally bright thanks to its legendary seasonal events. The Rink at the Rockefeller Centre has to be worth a trip, even if you don’t get your skates on! The city also hosts several winter events that are worth checking out. The Winter Jazzfest is perfect for all you music lovers while for the foodies among you, make sure you plan that getaway for when the Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival is going on. 8. Sedona
Arizona’s desert has a real sense of magic and Sedona, famous for its otherworldly red rock formations is an adventure traveler’s playground. It also has a fabulous reputation for luxurious wellness and spa resorts where you can chillax in style and forget all about your fast-paced life back home for a few days R&R. All you need do is lay back and soak in the jaw-dropping mountainscapes all around you. The vistas really are something to behold.
9. Vancouver
For simply stunning snowboarding and skiing opportunities, the twin mountain ski-resort Whistler Blackcomb is hard to fault. Over 200 marked runs will keep you occupied for much longer than a weekend and let’s not forget the lively apres-ski scene. There’s nothing more rewarding than enjoying an exhilarating day on the slopes carving fresh powder, followed by quench thirsting beers. Give yourself at least a day to also check out Vancouver itself. This dynamic and vibrant coastal city has a fantastic culinary scene.
