Whether you want to gaze at the sand dunes on one side or the snow-capped mountains on the other, you simply cannot complain about the surrounds. Perfectly equipped to accommodate both young and old, kids can play in the sand while adults sit back and appreciate nature in all its glory.
2. White Mountain National Forest, New Hampshire
If you’re keen for a rugged hike, then the trails found in the White Mountain National Forest will put your hiking shoes to good use! Based in the northernmost part of the Appalachian Valley, the scenery is simply magical. During autumn the landscape is dotted with the warm and vibrant colours of fall, making it the perfect leaf-peeping location. Just under 100 miles from the city of New York, you will find the rocky terrain and picturesque lakes of the Minnewaska State Park Reserve. Situated on Shawangunk Ridge, more than 2,000 feet above sea level, the grounds are ready to cater to hikers, cyclists, and nature enthusiasts alike.
