Atom Smartphone Gimbal
This next product review goes to show you how much times are changing and the immense power of social media plus the emergence of peer to peer funding platforms. At the time of researching this item, the Atom Smartphone Gimbal was just in the first stages of production, only 8 days into its funding and had already secured 4860% of its goal capital! Now that has to be a sure-fire sign that they’re onto something that the consumer is going to love right? So that got us wondering what was so great about their Gimbal?
Coming out of China from the team at Snoppa Technology, the Atom has been over 12 months in R&D already just to get it to this stage. It promises to be a super portable, wireless charging pocket-sized 3-axis Gimbal for your smartphone that is stuffed with features including a one-key switch, zoom and focus control to name but a few. There is serious buzz online about this powerful and convenient filming device which makes the troublesome task of mounting your phones to get steady video footage a total breeze. Portable, practical, foldable and functional. It’s still in the production stage, but it promises a lot so let’s just hope that it can deliver as it’s certainly got us buzzed.
With expanded App extensions and more flexibility than conventional 3-axis phone gimbals that are currently around, it’s fast to mount, easy to operate and you can even charge your phone while filming. The folding structure is what makes this gimbal unique. Perfect for travel and literally small enough to put into a pocket. At just 440 grams too, you won’t feel like your arm is going to fall off after a long day out shooting that latest YouTube video.
It’s also been intuitively designed so that you can operate the onboard controls and buttons with one hand and features a 4-way joystick. The motion sensor can also be fully adjusted to account for your location and the shooting conditions plus you can quickly flip between horizontal and vertical shooting orientations without having to stop and start.
We could go on, but we’ll park it up there for now and wait with anticipation for the official product launch itself. Whether you’re filming on a SmartPhone or a specific action camera like a Go Pro, looks like the Atom Gimbal is going to be a winner.
