It’s taboo to admit it, but hemp oil and CBD are theoretically medicine. Manufacturers of these products are forbidden by the FDA from making any direct health claims, but hemp oil is “medicinal” in the higher concentrations. Formulated at strength for maximum effect, these products are sold as dietary supplements—"food,” technically. But let’s be honest: People consume these products to address specific physiological or emotional reasons.
This means people suffering anxiety or pain don’t always want sugary candy (gummies, chocolate, etc.), voluminous drinks (coffee, tea, energy shots, etc.), or a meal (sports bars, etc.) when attempting to address their symptoms. Nor do they necessarily want to hold a pungent oil under their tongue (tinctures, nano-emulsions, etc.). Capsules are discrete, portable, and easy to store. Easy to swallow, they do away with any pretense.
Better Dosing Control
Capsules also make exact dosing much easier. This is important when attempting to track reactions to the milligram amounts consumed. Capsules contain specific measured amounts of hemp oil and cannabinoids. Consumers can more accurately gauge how a product affects them—and adjust dosing accordingly.
Keep in mind that capsules are absorbed systematically take slower effect (30–60 minutes) than sublingual tinctures (10–15 minutes). And, as always, consult with a medical professional before consuming CBD products for a health condition.
