Lego Vestas Wind Turbine
Let’s face it, you’re never too old to enjoy Lego, and this Wind Turbine from their Creator range certainly isn’t for kids. Well, maybe for big ones like you! It’s been designed for ages 12 and upwards so requires an element of skill and certainly plenty of patience. It’s a challenging and rewarding build and if you are doing it with a younger family member, requires collaboration and team effort too which is an added bonus. There is something old school and reassuring about Lego that not only takes us back to our days as a kid at Christmas but makes us feel all warm and cozy inside.
This is a big Lego set and features over 800 pieces so should keep you going for a while! When completed it’s pretty impressive stuff and will stand at 39” high. It’s a collaboration between Lego and Vestas who developed the green energy Wind Turbine, and when built, the model manages to capture the elegance and movement of a traditional wind turbine and even comes with fully motorized parts. Besides the turbine itself, the kit also involves building a house with a furnished patio that has a white picketed fence and garden full of flowers.
Talking about that motorized function, you can rotate the wind turbines blades and also illuminate the lights on the porch of the cottage. It’s this level of attention to detail that really sets Lego apart as a rewarding, creative and challenging build experience. The nostalgia of Lego is undeniable, and it looks set to be around for many more years to come as families continue to give the gift of creative and imaginative play. Once built, this Wind Turbine wouldn’t look out of place in a home office and certainly shouldn’t be confined to a kids bedroom. It’s an impressive kit, and alongside the turbine, there’s also a Vesta service vehicle, a couple of technician figurines as well as a woman with her dog. This is Lego at its most creative and most enjoyable.
