Subzero 532 Snow Brush
The SubZero 532 is the right snow brush for shallow to moderately thick snow build-up. While many customers are happy with its ability to remove thick ice, there are a few others who either experienced difficulty in scraping or brushing off snow because the bristles fall off. The Subzero 532 is highly loved for its ergonomically designed handle that offers good grip – firm but comfortable. The entire length of the tool is 26 inches and its weight is only 13.6 ounces, just a little above a quarter of a kilo. It’s a perfectly reasonable size and weight for a snow scraper of good quality.
The blade is 4 inches wide made with strong clippers that allow users to cut through thick snow. Many are able to successfully pick and scrape off thick snow with the use of the tool. A little caution needs to be exercised, though, lest the sharp blade damages the car.
The brush is made of 4 rows of sturdy plush bristles for sweeping off the thinner and disintegrated snow. It is about 8 inches long and 1.5 inches wide, relatively compact. The bristles are made soft to avoid scratching the car body.
The brush appears problematic to some customers. The bristles are too soft to scrape anything or fall off easily. When the malfunction or defect happens immediately after the delivery, it’s best to return the scraper for replacement. It’s likely that the cause of production error because many other customers held their SubZero 532 longer than 5 years.
Lastly, be wary when using the snow brush with kids around because the warning sign shows that it contains chemicals like the DEHP that is believed to cause skin damage, birth defect, or cancer when absorbed. The label transparently says so. Due research showed the case has a rare probability of occurrence, so wearing protective gloves, proper handling, and secure storing will help reduce the risk. In any case, it’s a very useful piece of gear to keep in your car.
